You might be familiar with A1c as an important marker of diabetes care. The term “time-in-range” has received increasing attention in recent years, especially due to the increased use of continuous glucose monitor (CGM) devices. Time-in-range describes how much time of your continuous glucose measurement is within a target range. The goal is to minimize glucose excursions, such as spikes, and maximize the time spent within a defined target range (e.g. 70-180 mg/dl). The appropriate target range depends on various factors and is therefore determined individually.
